Forex Flash: Foreign bond investment to be the main alternative investment for lifers - Nomura
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Nomura Strategist Yujiro Goto notes that foreign bond investment to be the main alternative investment for lifers.
He continues to note that all nine major life insurance companies have released their investment plans for this fiscal year. He sees that three companies expect USDJPY to trade at a level clearly higher than currently as of end of March next year (105-110). Four expect a slight rise toward 100 and two expect a lower level (96-98). In terms of the EURJPY forecast, he adds that four expect higher EUR130-140 and the other five expect a slightly lower level as of end of fiscal year (124-128). he writes, “Japanese life insurance companies are more bullish on USD than EUR, while they still see a limited upside for USDJPY.”
