EU meeting on Ukraine in progress, US applies visa bans on Russians and Crimeans
FXStreet (Łódź) - The EU summit on the situation in Ukraine progresses, with declarations of imposing more sanctions on Russia expected as an outcome. Meanwhile, the US has already announced its decision to impose visa restrictions to both Russians and Crimeans.
“Depending on how the situation develops, the United States is prepared to consider additional steps and sanctions as necessary,” according to the White House statement.
Meanwhile, Crimean deputy premier Rustam Temirgaliev announced that a team of experts was already discussing ways of facilitating the adoption of the ruble as the region's currency.
He also said there were also plans of “nationalizing” Ukrainian property in Crimea.
