Net bullish positions in WTI Crude rise for second week

FXStreet (Mumbai) - Speculators added to their net bullish position in WTI Crude oil futures last week for a second straight week, showed the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for the week ended January 13th to January 20th.

The non-commercial contracts of crude oil futures saw an addition of 5,789 contracts, taking the total net position to 281,269 contracts. The long positions in oil futures declined by a total of 4,956 contracts, while the short positions fell by 10,745 contracts.

Meanwhile, during the reporting period, the WTI crude oil price edged higher from USD 45.89/barrel to USD 46.47/barrel.
